As we age, we think of fine lines and wrinkles as the markers of time and the culprits behind what makes our skin look older. What few patients realize is that with each decade we also lose volume in our faces causing us to lack that youthful ‘fullness’ and smooth skin we once took for granted. Loss of volume (bone mass and the collagen and elastin that ‘holds up’ our skin), makes our fine lines look more pronounced and our wrinkles deeper. With a little help from soft tissue fillers and other collagen-boosting procedures, however, we can give skin a youth-enhancing boost.
If any of the below applies to you, you may be a good candidate for soft tissue dermal fillers and/or Ultherapy:
Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic acid soft tissue fillers (such as Juvederm or Restylane) are injected into the skin to fill in wrinkles and restore lost volume. Most dermal fillers are temporary and are absorbed by the body with time.
Ultherapy
A non-invasive skin tightening treatment that helps stimulate new collagen in the face and neck for a lifted, and more youthful appearance.
Patient of Dr. Nussbaum
“All I knew was that I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I looked ‘old’. I looked ‘worn out’. I thought it was just some crow’s feet but there was definitely something else that just seemed ‘off’. When Dr. Nussbaum recommended fillers I was skeptical at first. But she was right. The results were subtle, but I feel more like myself.”
DR. NUSSBAUM
“Many patients think they need botulinum toxin to erase their wrinkles and look younger. We see the best results when we combine fillers with neurotoxins to soften lines and ‘refill’ volume.”
